About
The Prizes
"Things like The Threadneedle Prize, especially in the current measures of austerity, represent something really really positive for young artists."
- Jeremy Hutchison, 2011 Exhibitor in The Threadneedle Prize
Three selectors will decide the winner of the £30,000 Threadneedle Prize from a shortlist of six works submitted through the open submission. Each of the five runners up will receive £1,000. The £10,000 Visitors' Choice Prize will be awarded by the general public and all 2012 exhibiting Threadneedle Prize artists will be eligible to win. Two Visitors' Choice Prize runners up will receive £500.
Voting for the Visitors' Choice Prize ends before the final exhibition day. Please check back for dates.
If the public vote coincides with the selectors’ vote, one artist wins a total of £40,000. The Threadneedle Prize is the most valuable art competition for a single work of art in the UK.
